How to do farm work

Yield farming in Farms is a great way to earn TAL rewards on TaalSwap.

For yield farming, you are required to stake TaalSwap-supported two tokens to get LP tokens, which you need to stake in a TaalSwap farm to earn rewards. By doing this, you will get TAL while still keeping your token positioning in the farm.

Getting prepared

You need to go through a couple of steps before doing your farm work.

First of all, you need to have a certain amount of "LP tokens" to enter into a Farm with. Farms can only accept their own exact LP Token; for example, the TAL-ETH Farm will only accept TAL-ETH LP Tokens. To get the exact LP Token, you'll need to provide liquidity in that token pair. To get TAL-ETH LP tokens therefore, you'll first have to provide liquidity in the TAL-ETH pair.

It's not that complicated as it may seem. Let's get it done step by step.

Finding your Farm

Before you proceed, choose a farm that's right for you. Visit the Farms page and you’ll see the available farms in either the listed or boxed format. (You can toggle between 'listed' and 'boxed' by pressing the icons at the upper left corner of Farms. Just use the format that suits your taste.)

The TAL-ETH pair is pinned to the top of the list with the default Hot sorting, since ETH is TaalSwap's network token and TAL, TaalSwap's native token. Following this pinned farm are the rest of available farms in the order of how new they are.

You can choose other sorting options if you like, such as APR for the farms listed in highest reward rate first and Liquidity for the farms listed in highest liquidity first.

Providing liquidity to get LP Tokens

Now that you've found a farm to stake in, you will need to add liquidity to get your LP tokens.

1. Click on the row of the farm you've chosen from the list. It will open to show more details.

2. On the left, you'll see some links. Click on the Get (your pair) LP link.

This will open the Add Liquidity page for your farm's pair. Refer to a guide to adding liquidity to get your LP Tokens.

Putting your LP Tokens into a farm

Now that you have your LP Tokens ready, you can start staking them in a farm and earning rewards!

1. Go back to the Farms page and locate the farm of your choice. Click anywhere or 'Details' on the farm. It will expand to show more details of the farm.

When you’re ready, click on the Enable button and confirm your action in your wallet.

2. After a short wait, the Enable button will change to Stake LP. Click on it and a new window will pop up.

Enter the amount of LP Tokens you want to farm with into the field, or just click on Max to put all of your LP Tokens into the farm.

3. When you have the amount entered, the Confirm button will light up. Click on it. Your wallet will ask you to confirm your action.

4. After a short wait, the window will close, and you will see your new staked LP Token balance.

Adding or removing LP Tokens from a Farm

You may want to add more LP Tokens to your farm at a later date, or to take some out of it. This also can be done easily whenever you want.

1. Return to the Farms page. At the top of the page you'll see a Staked only toggle. Click on the toggling button.

You should be now able to see the pairs you have on the list, thus making it easier to find your farm.

2. Find the farm where you have LP Tokens, and click on the row to view the details. You will also see a '-' and '+' button on the right-hand side. Click on '-' to remove LP Tokens, or '+' to add more LP Tokens.

3. Depending on which button you click on, a Stake LP tokens or Unstake LP tokens window will pop up that looks like the one you saw earlier to first stake your LP Tokens. Like last time, enter the amount you want to stake/unstake, or click Max to add/remove all of your available LP Tokens.

4. Make sure your information is correct. When you are ready, click on the Confirm button and confirm the action in your wallet.

5. After a short wait, your new balance will appear in the details section of your LP Token pair. If you unstake your LP Tokens, either all or some, all of your unharvested rewards will be automatically collected.

Collecting your farming rewards

Farming will bring you TAL rewards over time. You can collect these rewards anytime you want and use them to get more LP Tokens or stake them in Staking Pools.

Returning to your Farm to Harvest

To collect your farming rewards, you’ll need to visit the farm of your choice and collect the TAL waiting for you to harvest.

1. Return to the Farms page.

2. Find the farm you staked your LP Tokens in, and click on the row to view the detailed information. You should be able to see an estimate of your rewards under TAL EARNED.

3. Click on the Harvest button and confirm the action in your wallet. After a short wait, the TAL will be claimed to your wallet for you to use as you like.

How often should I harvest my rewards?

How often you harvest your rewards is totally up to you, but it does help to remember that there is a small fee involved in harvesting.

You can see this fee in your wallet when confirming after clicking Harvest.

This shows the fee for harvesting as it appears in the MetaMask wallet. Different wallets will show the information a bit differently. Consider leaving your rewards to grow for a while so you pay fees less often.
